2021 Carlson Paving Longitudinal Joint Density Attachments
Achieving Greater Joint Density For Longer Lasting RoadwaysPoor density at the longitudinal joint can drastically reduce the lifespan of roadways and can even cause premature failure. Helping to maximize roadway lifecycle, Carlson introduces the 4 in High Density Bolt-on and Sideload Endgate Attachment. Available exclusively for Carlson front- and rear-mount screeds, Carlson’s Longitudinal Joint Density Attachments work in unison to produce higher density figures without the need of extra material, pie cutters or stepped joints.
Features may include:
Easily Improve Your Joint Density
- Traditionally, the outside edge of the screed registers lower density figures than at the main screed plate. This historical issue, along with paving a cold joint, contributes to premature roadway failure. But with the Carlson Joint Density Attachments, contractors are able to significantly improve both the density figures at the longitudinal joint and roadway lifecycle through the simple solution of extruding greater amounts of material into the joint. No need for bulky heating systems, notch joints or complicated sealants!
Raising Density Figures
- Working in tandem to achieve higher density figures and a more impervious longitudinal joint, the 4 Inch High Density Bolt-on and Sideload Endgate extrudes greater amounts of material into the joint and allowing the application of compaction on the joint. This advantage gives contractors higher density numbers compared to stepped joint attachment solutions that are unable to be compacted with the roller on the first pass. To achieve higher density figures, the patented 4 Inch High Density Bolt-on creates up to four times angle of attack, mounting between the extension body and the endgate. Aiding in both edge containment and directing more material towards the 4 in High Density Bolt-on, the Sideload Endgate Attachment can be adjusted to give contractors up to four times edge compaction.
Intuitive Design
- Like all of Carlson’s highway-class screed attachments, the 4 in High Density Bolt-on and Sideload Endgate Attachment are constructed of heavy duty components and abrasion resistant steel. State-of-the-art heating elements, standard on both attachments, increase material extrusion and consistent performance. External adjustment points are easily accessible and remain clear of material build up for simple operation.
Versatility, Reimagined.
- Improving safety, eliminating downtime and revolutionizing the endgate versatility, the V3 Endgate helps contractors achieve more including achieving higher longitudinal joint density. The Sideload Endgate Attachment utilizes the V3 endgate system, providing ease of use, simplifies installation, and greatly increases safety by eliminating heavy lifting associated with other systems.
